Every number,
one at a time.

Knowing numbers, for little mathematicians

Who is playing today?

A grown-up can read the manual at any time.

📖 Read the user manual

All nine games are available to every pupil from the first day. Age sets only how high the numbers go to begin with — 20 for the youngest, 100 from age six — and a grown-up can change that at any time in Settings.

Choose a subscription

A grown-up picks the plan. Paying asks for a grown-up’s email, for the receipt — and for nothing else.

Bought your copy in person? Type the code you were given. It needs internet once, and then works offline.

Your payment is checked on our own server, and what you buy is signed so it cannot be copied. Nothing about your child leaves this device.

Progress chart

Speed per question

Shorter bars mean quicker recognition. Accuracy first, speed after.

Skill board

How each of the nine games is going. A game needs six answers before it is scored.

Numbers met

Every number from 1 to 100. Green means the pupil knows it, pink means it still needs practice, plain means it has not come up yet.

Secure Nearly Needs practice Not met yet

Tricky numbers

What this pupil gets wrong most often, hardest first.

Message the Wake NumAp team

What the class finds hard

Missed by the most pupils — worth teaching to the whole group.

Add a pupil from another device

If a pupil practised on their own phone, ask a grown-up to send you their backup file from Settings, then bring it in here.

Settings

Counting, adding and taking away are unaffected: those always stay within the small numbers. This sets how high the numerals and number words go.
Phones do not all carry the same voices. If the accent you pick is not on this phone, the app quietly uses the nearest English voice it has rather than going silent — so nothing breaks either way.
Phones come with different voices, and some are much clearer than others. If the voice is hard to make out, pick another from this list and press the button to hear it. On an iPhone, more voices can be added under Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.
With this on, the range moves up from 20 to 50 to 100 by itself, once the pupil is secure at the top of the range they are on. Turn it off to keep the range exactly where you set it above.

Pupil details

Replace this with your real support address before giving the app to families.

Data

All results live on this device only. Nothing is uploaded.

Clear results wipes this pupil's scores, charts, stars and tricky list, and keeps the pupil, their name and your subscription. Erase this pupil removes the child completely — and if the subscription was bought on this child, it goes with them.

Restore from a backup

Moving to a new phone, or bringing a pupil back after clearing your browser? Choose the backup file you saved earlier.

Backups are the only copy of a pupil's history. Save one at the end of each term and keep it somewhere safe, like your email.

Subscription

You can buy or change a plan at any time — there is no need to wait for a free trial to run out. Whatever you choose starts on the day you pay.

Put this on your phone

Added to the home screen it opens like any other app — its own icon, no address to type, and it still works with no internet.

On an iPhone or iPad

  1. Open this page in Safari.
  2. Tap Share — the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Do this before a child starts, if you can. On an iPhone the home-screen copy keeps its own results, separate from Safari’s, so work already saved here will not appear in it. If there is work already: press Save a backup above, add the icon, open it, and choose that file under Restore from a backup. After that, use only the icon.

On an Android phone

  1. Open this page in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen, then confirm.

Android shares the same results between Chrome and the icon, so nothing needs carrying across.
