1. Who we are and what these terms do

We are William A. K. E. Kyei Enterprise, of Accra, Ghana (“we”, “us”). We make nineteen apps (each an “app”):

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use any of them. They apply to the free trial as much as to a paid plan. If you do not accept them, please do not use the apps.

2. This agreement is with a grown-up

The learning apps are for children, but the agreement is with you — the parent, guardian, teacher or school that sets the app up. You must be 18 or over. A child cannot agree to these terms and cannot enter into a subscription.

You are responsible for how the app is used on your device, including anything done by a child in your care.

3. Setting up and supervising

Each learning app asks for the learner's first name and age, and for a parent's, guardian's or adult learner's email address only if they choose to pay. The mark book asks a teacher for their school, their name and the names of the pupils in their class; the paper maker asks for the school and the teacher's name. You agree that you have the right to give us that information, and that you will supervise a child's use of the app.

Subscriptions, reports, settings and the support form sit behind a simple sum that a young child is not expected to answer. That is a sensible guard, not a security lock: if an older child or another adult can answer it, they can reach those screens. Please treat the device as you would any device that can spend money.

4. The free trial

Every paid app offers a free trial with everything included. No card details are needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends — the app simply stops unlocking the paid features.

AppFree trial lasts
Wake NumAp, Wake Easy.Sums.Ap, Wake Eng.Read.Write.Ap, Wake Comprehension.Essay.Ap7 days, one learner
Every other learning app3 days, one learner
Wake Mark.Book.ApA whole school term, with one class and one subject
Wake Read.Drill.Quiz.Exam.ApThree finished papers or readings

When a learning app's trial ends, it offers 3 more free days, once. The trial is intended once per app per family, learner or teacher. We may withdraw or change the trial for new users at any time.

Wake Write.Draw.Ap is free while it is new: it asks for no payment at all. If that ever changes, we will say so on its plans screen before anything can be charged.

5. Plans and prices

The learning apps are sold by how many learners. The two teachers' apps are sold to a teacher or a school by the year.

Prices are in Ghana cedis and include any taxes we are required to charge. We may change our prices, but a change never affects a period you have already paid for. The prices shown inside the app are the ones that apply; if this page and the app ever disagree, tell us and we will correct it.

6. The apps are sold separately

Every app is a separate product with a separate subscription. A plan or activation code for one does not unlock another — the codes are built so that they cannot, by accident or otherwise. If you want two apps, you need a plan for each.

7. Paying

Payments are handled by Paystack, which accepts mobile money, cards and bank transfer. Your card number, mobile money PIN and bank details go to Paystack alone and are never seen by us. We are told only that a payment succeeded, for which plan, and against which email address.

If a payment fails or is reversed, the plan does not start, or stops.

8. Activation codes

We may also unlock a plan by sending you an activation code, for example if you pay by another route or if we are putting right a problem. A code needs an internet connection once, and then works offline.

A code is issued to you for the pupils or teachers covered by that plan. Please do not publish or share it. We may cancel a code that has been shared or duplicated, and where that happens we will contact you first if we reasonably can.

9. What happens when a plan ends

Nothing renews automatically and nothing is charged automatically. Each plan unlocks the app for a set number of days, and when those days are used up the paid features simply lock again. To carry on, a grown-up buys another period.

Your work is not deleted when a plan ends. A child's history stays on the device and comes back when you subscribe again.

The mark book goes read-only rather than locked. When a teacher's year ends, every mark, every report and every backup stays reachable — they can still be opened, printed and sent to a parent. Only new entries are refused until the subscription is renewed.

Those records belong to the teacher and their school, and we will not hold them back to collect a renewal.

10. Refunds

The free trial exists so that you can be sure the app suits your child before paying. If you nevertheless change your mind, write to us within 7 days of paying and we will refund you in full, provided the plan has been little used — 2 days of use for a monthly subscription, 5 days for a yearly one.

After that we do not usually refund part-used periods. We will always refund you if the app is substantially broken on a device it should work on and we cannot put it right for you.

To ask for a refund, email wakelearningapps@gmail.com from the email address you paid from. We aim to reply within 15 days, and refunds are returned by the same route you paid.

11. Class and school licences

A class licence covers up to 40 pupils at one school, on devices the school controls. A whole-school mark book licence covers the teachers on that school's staff. Neither may be shared between schools or branches, and a class licence may not be passed on to families for use at home.

If you take a school licence, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on the school's behalf. The school remains responsible for telling parents that the app is in use, and for meeting its own duties under Ghana's data protection law.

12. What you may and may not do

We give you permission to use the apps on your own devices, for your own children or pupils, for as long as your plan lasts. That permission is personal to you and cannot be transferred.

You agree not to:

13. Your device, your data, your backups

Each app stores its work in the browser on your device. We hold no copy. This is deliberate, and it is the reason your child's privacy is so well protected — but it does mean one thing you must understand before you buy:

If your device is lost, replaced or wiped, or your browser data is cleared, that history is gone and we cannot restore it. Please save a backup at the end of each term (Settings → Save a backup) and keep it somewhere safe. This matters most of all for the mark book, which may hold a term of a whole class's marks.

Your subscription is a different matter and can be restored: the receipt email carries a link that puts your plan back on any phone. Keep that email.

How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

14. Keeping the apps working

We aim to keep the apps working and to improve them, and we may update them from time to time. Updates can change or remove features, though we will not remove something a plan you have already paid for depends on.

The apps run in a web browser and work offline once installed. We cannot promise they will work on every device, browser or version, and we do not control your device, your browser or your internet connection.

15. What the apps are, and are not

The learning apps are lessons and practice. They are not a test, an assessment, an examination or a diagnosis, and the charts and reports are a record of what happened in the app, nothing more. The apps never mark a learner's writing or speaking: that is for a teacher. Where an app follows a school programme or an examination (Cambridge, the IB, the College Board, WAEC, NaCCA and others), it is our own work, and those bodies have not made or endorsed it.

The paper maker suggests questions from the learning apps; the teacher decides what goes on a paper and marks it. The mark book records what a teacher enters. It calculates averages, grades and positions from those marks, and it does not judge a child; the comment on a report is written by the teacher.

We do not promise any particular result at school or in any examination. If you are worried about a child's learning or development, please speak to their teacher or a health professional — an app is not the right place to look for that answer.

16. If something goes wrong

If an app does not work as it should, tell us and we will do our best to put it right, and refund you where section 10 says we will.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our responsibility to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for that app in the 12 months before the problem arose. We are not responsible for lost pupil history, lost backups, indirect losses, or losses we could not reasonably have foreseen.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Ghanaian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

17. Stopping

You may stop using any app at any time. You can erase records yourself in Settings, and you can remove the app from your device.

We may suspend or end your access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or where there is fraud. If we do that and you have paid for a period you can no longer use, we will refund the unused part unless the reason was fraud.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Changes never apply backwards to a period you have already paid for. Continuing to use an app after a change means you accept the new terms.

19. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana deal with any dispute. Please write to us first — almost everything is quicker to fix that way.
