This app teaches first-year university courses, one short lesson at a time, with practice after every lesson and an explanation after every answer. It begins with Pre-Calculus and Calculus I.
It is for students in their first year at university, and it is free.
Today the app holds only a short welcome lesson. Each course will appear in its own folder on the home screen as it is written.
The app runs in a web browser, but it is meant to live on the home screen like any other app. On Android, open it in Chrome, tap the three dots and choose Add to Home screen or Install app. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
Once it is there it opens full screen and works with no internet at all.
Opening the file inside WhatsApp, Gmail or a file manager shows a preview, and previews do not run apps: the buttons will not respond. Ask for the web link rather than the file, and open it in Chrome or Safari.
Tap Add a learner, then give a first name, an age and a picture. No email is asked for, nothing is paid, and the app opens at once. Up to five learners can share one phone.
Nothing is locked. The lessons are numbered in a sensible order, but you can open any of them at any time.
β² Back to the contentsTap a lesson and its pages appear one at a time β Next page and Back move between them. On the last page, Start the drill appears. A learner who already knows the lesson can skip straight there from any page.
After every answer, right or wrong, the app shows the right answer and why it is right. Nothing moves on by itself.
A question with numbers in it may show a yellow pencil. It opens squared paper with the question across the top, for working the sum out by hand; nothing on it is saved. Some questions ask you to type a number rather than choose one: a fraction such as 1/4 or a decimal such as 0.25 is accepted, as the question says.
About four in ten questions in a round are drawn from what that learner has missed before. Mixed revision on the home screen draws questions from every lesson started.
β² Back to the contentsReports, Settings, Support and the class dashboard sit behind a multiplication question. It is not security; it simply stops a report or a setting being changed by accident.
My chart shows scores over time and a board of every lesson, green where it is secure. Questions I miss lists the questions this learner gets wrong most often, with a button to practise exactly those.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Questions per round | 5, 10, 15 or 20. A lesson's drill never repeats a question to fill a round. |
| Way of speaking and voice | Which accent and voice read the questions aloud. |
| Sounds | Turns the tones off. |
| Animations | Turns off movement. |
| Bring back questions I missed more often | Weaves past mistakes back into rounds. Leave it on. |
The report is written from the learner's own recorded answers: drills done, accuracy, each lesson, a chart, the questions missed most, and recommendations. You can print it, save it as a PDF, email it or send it on WhatsApp. It is not a school grade.
β² Back to the contentsThere is nothing to pay, no card to give and no code to type. A learner added on this phone gets every lesson and drill straight away. If a notice ever says the free time is running out, tap Carry on and it starts again β still free.
β² Back to the contentsAlmost always the browser's data was cleared, or the app was opened in a different browser. Results live in the browser that made them. Restore from a backup β see the next chapter.
Close every tab of the app and open it again, with internet on.
Tell us through Support, saying which lesson and question.
β² Back to the contentsEvery result lives in this browser on this device, and nowhere else. Nothing is uploaded to us. That keeps a learner's work private β and it means that clearing the browser, changing phone or reinstalling will lose it unless you have saved a backup.
Settings β Save a backup writes a small file to the device. Email it to yourself and it is safe. To bring it back: Settings β Restore from a backup. If the learner already exists on the device, the copy with more history is kept.
Settings β Clear results wipes that learner's scores but keeps the learner. Settings β Erase this pupil removes the learner and everything they did. It cannot be undone, so save a backup first.
