Everything you need to use Wake Easy.Sums.Ap โ how to start, what the screens do, how to read a report, and how to keep your child's results safe.

A child meeting 7 + 5 for the first time must count it out. A
child who has practised it simply knows it. The difference is not
cleverness โ it is familiarity, and familiarity comes only from short,
frequent practice.
This matters because the mind can only hold a few things at once. A pupil still counting on fingers spends everything they have on the counting itself, with nothing left over for the actual problem. Once the number facts come without effort, that effort is freed for the part that matters: the method, the reasoning, the โwhat is this question really asking?โ
That is the whole purpose of Wake Easy.Sums.Ap. Not to teach mathematics โ the teacher does that โ but to make the small, mechanical parts automatic, so the child has room to think.
You need a phone, tablet or computer with a web browser. Nothing to buy from an app store, no account to create, no password to remember.
Doing this once makes Wake Easy.Sums.Ap behave like any other app: its own icon, its own window, and it works without internet afterwards.
Each browser keeps its own separate store. A pupil created in Chrome will not appear in Safari, and one created in the browser may not appear inside the home-screen icon. Nothing has been lost โ they are separate cupboards. Choose one place and stay in it. The home-screen icon is the best choice.
Tap โจ Add a pupil and fill in the name, the age, and a grown-up's email address โ yours, not the child's. Reports are addressed there. Nothing is sent anywhere automatically.
In Settings there are two levels: Tiny Tots (answers to 5) and Easy Sums (answers to 9). Dropping to Tiny Tots is not a failure โ it is the right response to a struggling child.
Ten sums, over in two or three minutes. On a phone, tap โจ๏ธ Show the number keys if the keypad is not showing. Then stop โ genuinely stop, even if the child wants another. Finishing while they still want more is the single most useful habit in this manual.
โ Back to contentsSettings, Reports, Plans and Support ask you to answer a multiplication
question such as 8 ร 6.
This is not security. It is a door handle placed high on the door โ enough to stop a four-year-old wandering into your subscription settings, and no more. An older child will get past it. That is fine; it was never meant to stop one.
Shows the pupil's name and four figures: stars earned, rounds played, best score, and day streak. Below that:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| โ Play Easy Sums | Start a round of sums |
| ๐ Count the Things | Start a counting round |
| ๐ My chart | Scores over time, and badges earned |
| ๐ฏ Tricky sums | Practice aimed at the sums this pupil keeps missing |
| ๐ Report | The full progress report |
| โ๏ธ Settings | Level, sounds, pupil details, backups |
| ๐ Switch pupil | Change to another child on your plan |
| โ๏ธ Support | Send a message for help |
| ๐ซ Class dashboard | Class licence only โ all pupils at a glance |
One sum at a time. Right answers are marked immediately; wrong ones show the correct answer rather than dwelling on the mistake. At the end you get the score, the stars, and any new badges โ with the option to ๐ฏ Practise these ten, which rebuilds a round from the sums just missed.
There are eight badges: First round, All ten right, Quick thinker, Three days, 100 sums right, Zero hero, Doubles done, Met all 55.
Open a report from the home screen with ๐ Report. It contains the figures at a glance, a chart of scores over time, the facts now secure, the addends still causing trouble, and recommendations written from this pupil's own numbers.
| Button | What happens |
|---|---|
| ๐ฌ Send by WhatsApp | Opens WhatsApp with the report ready to send |
| ๐จ๏ธ Print or save as PDF | Opens your printer, or saves a PDF |
| โ๏ธ Email it | Shows the words with a Copy button |
| ๐ Copy the words | Copies the report to paste anywhere |
The app deliberately does not launch your email program itself โ on some devices that behaves unpredictably and can interrupt the app. Copy the words, then paste them into your email.
When printing, your browser may add the web address across the top and bottom. To remove it, look under More settings in the print window and untick Headers and footers.
โ Back to contentsWake Easy.Sums.Ap is built for ages 2 to 6, but anyone older is welcome โ an eight-year-old still counting on fingers, a student rebuilding confidence, a trader who wants to be quicker, a grandparent keeping sharp. The age list runs to Adult (18 and over).
The sums do not change. The same 55 single-digit facts, the same keypad. For an older learner the challenge is not difficulty but speed: how far the seconds per sum can be brought down while accuracy holds.
For anyone aged 7 or over, the recommendations are rewritten. They report the time for the whole ten-sum round as well as the per-sum average, because that is the figure a person actually races against. They talk about protecting accuracy while chasing speed. They do not suggest counters and bottle tops, and they do not advise keeping sessions under five minutes.
A guide to pace, for an adult or older child: above 4 seconds a sum means the facts are being worked out rather than recalled; around 2.5 seconds is solid recall; below about 1.8 seconds the limit is how fast you can tap the keys, not how fast you know the answer.
If the sums become too easy, that is the right outcome. Further apps for larger numbers are planned.
โ Back to contentsThe free trial needs no card. Prices and lengths are shown on the Plans screen inside the app.
You may be sent a code rather than paying inside the app. It looks like
WM-Y365-7QK2-4M9X. Enter it under ๐ Activate, exactly as
given, including the dashes. Capital and small letters both work.
A code works on one device. Once used, it will not work again on that device. If your family uses two phones, say so when you buy.
If a code is refused, check for typing errors first โ a 0 mistaken
for an O, or a 1 for an I. If it still
fails, contact support with the code so it can be looked up.
The app warns you before expiry. Nothing is deleted when a plan lapses โ your pupil's history stays exactly where it is, waiting.
โ Back to contentsAlmost always the browser, not the app. Are you in the same browser you set them up in โ Chrome or Safari, tab or home-screen icon? Try the other one. The results are still there; you are looking in a different cupboard.
Wake Easy.Sums.Ap saves itself to your device so it works offline, and the old copy sometimes lingers. Close the tab or icon completely, then open it again. Check the version number at the bottom of Settings.
Check Sounds is on in Settings. On an iPhone, check the silent switch on the side of the phone. Some phones stay quiet until the screen has been tapped once โ start a round and it will come.
Turn the phone upright rather than sideways. If it still happens, tell support which phone you have โ that report is exactly what gets it fixed.
Use ๐ Copy the words instead, then paste into your email yourself. That route works on every device.
Turn off Animations in Settings. This helps a great deal on older phones.
โ Back to contentsEverything lives on your device only. Not on our servers โ we do not have any. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is sent anywhere, and nobody but you can see what your child has done. There is no account and no password because there is nothing to log in to.
Because the results live only on your device, they can be lost. They go if the phone is lost, stolen or broken; if you clear your browser's data; if you move to a different browser or phone; or if you delete the app from your home screen on some devices.
Nobody can recover them for you. There is no copy anywhere else.
In Settings, under Data, tap Save a backup. This saves a small file holding everything: pupils, scores, dates, badges. Keep it somewhere safe โ email it to yourself, or put it in Google Drive. To bring it back, use Restore from a backup in the same place.
Do this once a month, and always before changing phones. It takes about twenty seconds and it is the only protection there is.
Erase this pupil in Settings removes that child and everything recorded about them, immediately and permanently. Use it when handing a device on. There is no undo, so take a backup first if there is any doubt.
